Can hydrotherapy help me deal with the stress of the pandemic?
Wow … ten months of 2020 has passed and Covid-19 has turned the world upside down and inside out. When will all this madness end and normality rein again …. I wonder!
Many of us are seeking different ways to reduce stress and anxiety by being part of the green or blue space community to maintain our well-being. Recent academic research from the likes of Newcastle and Exeter Universities have shared research regarding the importance of blue space (harbour fronts, rivers, ponds, lakes, ports, canals, fountains etc) on the impact on peoples’ well-being. We all trying to understand how to function in this environment and to devise new ways to cope and it is not easy.
At our monthly ET-LOTUS Well-Being Bath Systems Product huddle, we shared thoughts and activities we like to do, to help to reduce stress and to make sense of this situation. Many spoke about their frequent visits to the coast and others enjoyed walking along the river. For me, being near to water and bathing in our latest ET LOTUS bespoke super jet water, air, light music bathtub was my approach. It’s my time to stop thinking about Covid-19 liberty busting restrictions and to allow the perfectly balanced warm jets of water and air massage my back, feet and mind … with a nice glass of wine.
Benefits
Hydrotherapy can help you in a number of different ways: The warmth of the water allows your muscles to relax and eases the pain in your joints, helping you to exercise. The water supports your weight, which helps to relieve pain and increase the range of movement of your joints.
A strengthened immune system better positions us to fight off illnesses, diseases and unwanted health obstacles. Living near the water can achieve all of these objectives and more.
The team agreed all forms of hydrotherapy or being close to water helped to calm the mind and we should encourage all of us to embrace the benefits of blue space.
I look forward to speaking to you again.
